DECATUR LUTHERAN BIBLE INSTITUTE  will continue on the upcoming Tuesday nights, Feb. 12, 19, and 26 at  Wyneken from 7-9:15pm. Presenters are Dr.’s Pless, Gieschen, and Rev. Wietfeldt from CTS-Ft Wayne, and Pastor Yeager, who will present on the Book of Hebrews. The cost is $10 per adult/per course, free for college, H.S., and elem. students

 

LUTHERAN HOUR PRAYER BREAKFAST Saturday, March 1, 2019 at St Michael Lutheran Church, 2131 Getz Rd, Ft Wayne. Registration 8am. Breakfast served at 8:30am Cost is $7.00 per person: $14.00 per family.  Speaker is Rev Dr. Anthony Cook, Vice Pres., Lutheran Hour Ministries.

SCHOLARSHIP INFO:  Indiana District LWML will be awarding a limited number of $500 scholarships for the 2018-2019 school year. These are available to students preparing to be servants of the church on a full-time basis (ministry, teaching, DCE, parish work, etc.) and are enrolled in an LCMS synodical university or seminary for next year.  Forms are available online at our district website: www.lwmlindiana.org.  WYNEKEN GRADUATES. 50th ANNIV. GALA AND SILENT AUCTION March 2.  This event helps reduce the number of smaller fundraisers our school does while helping to benefit our students, teachers, and staff through the dollars raised. Portion of the proceeds from this event will be used to help update the school’s playground. We are seeking donations for the silent auction as well as sponsorship. Donations are tax deductible. Youth of Preble, Freidheim, and Bingen

ICE SKATING AND CONEY ISLAND. Middle School Youth Event Sunday, February 10. We will meet in the Bingen parking lot at 1 p.m. on Sunday, February 10 to carpool to Headwaters Park Ice Skating Rink. After skating for a while we will then head to Coney Island for some hot dogs, coney-dogs, cheese dogs, chili, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, baked beans, and pie. We plan to be back to Bingen by about 5:30 p.m. Please let Pastor Yeager know if you plan to participate by Friday, February 8. Parents, consider serving as a chaperone, and let Pastor Yeager know this as well.

MOVIE NIGHT AT CASTON HOME. February 24 5:30-8:30 p.m. Chris and Tina Caston will again host a movie night at their home (1988 E. 900 N.; Decatur, IN 46733). Come and enjoy their incredible home theater! Pizza and popcorn provided. Please note the start time of 5:30 p.m.

 

SNOW SKIING IN N. MICHIGAN March 8-10. The current plan is to leave from the Bingen parking lot around 5 p.m. on Friday, arrive in Harbor Springs / Petoskey, MI Friday night where we have free lodging at Royce and Shelly Bradbury’s condo as well as Brian and Angela Horning’s house, ski all day Saturday, go to church Sunday morning at Zion Lutheran in Petoskey, and return to Decatur by mid-afternoon Sunday. Total cost will probably be around $100-150 per person for the whole weekend (which seems like a good deal for transportation, two nights of lodging, lift tickets, equipment rentals, and food). We will get more details out soon, but we wanted to include the dates and general details now so interested individuals can schedule it. Please let Pastor Brock know if you’re planning to participate. Again, more information will be forthcoming.
