Services of the Church. For the summer months, our services will be at 8am and 9:15am. To serve those who have not received the Sacrament, each service will be a Divine Service with the Lord’s Supper. The fellowship hall and balcony will be opened to provide extra seating.
The Lord’s Supper. Communicants are invited to either side of the altar rail and are communed individually or in pairs without kneeling. There is no dismissal of each individual or couple; the dismissal is spoken over the entire congregation at the end of the Sacrament. After having received the Body and Blood of Christ, please return to your pew by the side aisle. The common cup is withheld for a time, so take an individual cup provided on the stand with you up to the altar. You may receive the Body of Christ with an open mouth or an open hand.
Park-In opportunity. One service is broadcasted (9:15am) on the radio at 106.1FM.
Services at Adams Woodcrest. Thanks be to God, the staff at Woodcrest is working with the pastors of the Decatur circuit to facilitate Divine Services for our members to be held outside. The details as to how this will proceed in a safe way are still being worked out. The first Divine Service for our members took place this past Thursday and was hosted by St. John, Bingen. I will be glad to let the congregation know when St. Paul is scheduled to host the Service.
Wednesday Evening Bible Class and Compline. Pr. Yeager has begun a Bible Class for Wednesday evenings at 6pm. The first class met Wednesday, June 10th. We will study the Book of 2 Corinthians for an hour and at the end of the study, we will learn and pray the Office of Compline in the sanctuary, which is a prayer office for the close of the day (LSB 253). Compline should take no longer than 15 minutes. If you plan to come, please let Pr. Yeager know of your intentions and bring your own Bible from home so that you can take notes.
Offerings and E-Giving. To set up automatic online giving from your bank or financial center, go to the Congregation’s website, www.splutheranpreble.org, click the Online Giving tab in the upper right corner of the homepage, then click the Donation Link provided, set up your online giving profile, and follow the simple instructions. This is a safe, easy and automatic way to tithe to the Church. For those who have already established online giving, your offerings are being recorded by the Church’s financial secretary. We give thanks for your gifts to St. Paul.
