At St. Paul.
Holy Communion at St. Paul. We are offering Holy Communion at St. Paul in groups of ten people or less, starting today, this Sunday. Please let me know if you would like to sign up for one of these services which will start at 11AM and continue every half hour thereafter until we have communed everyone who desires it. It is necessary for us to take extreme precautions to ensure the safety of all those who come into the building, and to provide that we stay within the CDC guidelines. Here are some highlights to the precautions we will be observing:
+10 people or less in the building at all times
+Social distancing (everyone sits 6 feet apart) in the pews
+Hand sanitizer is used upon entering and leaving the sanctuary
+Communion elements on sanitized trays
+Pastor never touches the bread, wine, or cups except with gloved hands. Elements of bread and wine are not passed from hand to hand or hand to mouth
+6 feet of distance is maintained between everyone at the altar rail
+There is no common cup. Bread and individual cups are never touched by anyone except for the person communing himself or herself
+Pews and all touched areas are disinfected with a hospital grade cleaner
I want to emphasize that there is no pressure for anyone to receive the Sacrament at this time. All are free in Christ to stay at home and receive the Word of God via the recorded services or come to the Park-In Service at 9AM. I will be maintaining these park-in services Sundays at 9AM for the near future and would like to thank the deacons, our tech guys, Connie on the organ, and Pr. Brege for helping facilitate these each week.
Park-In Services. Since this format works for safely gathering together, we are going to continue these in this way as a congregation for the foreseeable future. Sundays at 9AM, come to St. Paul and tune your radio to 106.1FM. The deacons will pass out bulletins and collect offerings. Participate in the service by hearing, singing, and praying along.
Recorded Services. I will continue to record the services ahead of time for those that stay at home and post these services both on YouTube and Facebook, until we can meet together again.
Confirmation. Examinations are currently being scheduled. If you have not called me to set up a time for the examination, please do so now. Confirmation itself is TBD until we can gather again corporately. In my announcement from last week, I said that the robes would be $15/each but we have a gracious donor who would like to provide these free of charge. Thanks!
Elders, Council, and Voters were scheduled to meet April 20-21. Due to restrictions, these meetings have been tentatively rescheduled to May 18-19.
